"Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you are not willing to move your feet." - source unknown

i love this quote. :) hello all, today's reminder is basically to mean what you pray/say and not to be afraid of dreaming big. it's easy to speak/pray beautiful words and things that you "should" be doing/wanting, . . . but if you don't MEAN it then it's a waste of your and God's time. make a plan for yourself (start small, then get bigger), ask for His help (He will bless your HONEST efforts), and then go for it. for myself, i plan to go work at johns hopkins (in baltimore) right after i graduate college (next may!!! :)) and in about 2 years, attend their graduate school. for those of you who know the reputation of johns hopkins (most would say its the best in the WORLD), you are thinking that i am insane right now and you know what? maybe so :), . . . . but just the same i believe that with the Lord to guide my willing feet, why not ME? to quote my grandpa, "why wish for the loaf of bread when you can wish for the whole store?" exactly grandpa -- exactly :)

to quote Cedric the Entertainer . . .
"turn off the lights, . . . light a candle" . . .

so that was a bizarre lead-in :), but i am gonna talk today about getting good sleep. insomnia often hits when the stress of school, work, and life in general are getting the best of you. your mind races a mile a minute and you end up with bags under your eyes, running on coffee and sheer will power. that'll run your body as well as your mind ragged and you simply can not have it. some tips that work for myself are:
1) put on the fan (the noise is very comforting and almost "mind-numbing." if you're cold, just point it away from you :))
2) keep your bed for sleeping only (don't do homework on it or watch tv, train yourself to only sleep on the bed, you'll be surprised)
3) turn the tv on low (the background noise offers a subliminal distraction and always puts my mind blank :) hehe, looks like mom was right all along :))
4) keep the environment as dark as possible and light a candle (the dark=sleep and light=awake cycle is so important)
5) make the bed your haven (if you love down, save up and get a good comforter, have at least one awesome pillow, good sheets, you get the point)
hope these give you some help on your sleepless nights. sleep tight yall!!! :)
