PowerPoint Project

Our next two projects deal with learning and using PowerPoint. Many of you have already used PowerPoint to make a presentation for a class. We will be taking a look at how to use PowerPoint effectively. PowerPoint is powerful, but power often corrupts! Check out these links before you start anything:

On the positive side, here are some links to how to do things well:

Your Projects:

  • Teacher Presentation - Talk to one of your instructors, and make a PowerPoint presentation for an upcoming lesson (at least 2 weeks in advance). Collaborate with your instructor to make sure your idea is on target.
  • Personal Introduction - This presentation will become part of your portfolio and will serve as a means of introducing yourself to others. We will be videotaping you to add a visual introduction. Include info on education, goals, work and volunteer experience, skills, hobbies, etc.

Have fun!

Design Project

Our last project of the quarter is meant to give you the opportunity to exercise your creativity. Using Fireworks MX and the CARP principles of design, create a graphic layout of your choosing. Try to showcase all that you have learned about Fireworks and maybe push yourself beyond that a bit. Here are some possible projects:
  • CD cover
  • Magazine or other print ad
  • Web page storyboard
  • Promotional flyer
  • Sport card
  • Magazine cover
  • Business card
  • Poster
  • Postcard
  • Other ...

Use only original elements in your design. (No copying from the Internet!) Create a folder called Design Project in your ComApp folder for this project.
