School

Well, the four day weekend is over.

Tyler didn't have any homework today, so I didn't really tutor him.

I am going to follow around the St. Stephens team (my old school) for the CLHS Basketball Tournament. I am supposed to tell them all about the school and encourage them to come. There are four teams again in Lauren's division.

The only homework that I have to do for tomorrow is the Charles Darwin paper and I have to study for an Algebra 2 test and a Spanish 1 quiz. At least, now that sports are over, I have some more time to do homework.

Basketball Results

We ended up l0sing our basketball game in overtime. Now all of my sports are over until summer.

Lauren's team won their game yesterday and got third place out of four teams. The game was really exciting, our team was winning by 1 with one minute left in the game, but the other team scored and then we scored with 16 seconds left and won the game!

Lauren and I took the Hulls to the mall to see The Pink Panther today! It was a fantastic movie, really funny!

Now that sports is over I can start tutoring tomorrow!

Basketball

We have a basketball game today! It is exciting to play with the Varsity! We have a shoot-around in about half an hour. We are also going to watch game film and have a brunch! The game is at 7.

Lauren lost her first basketball game in the Reformation Tournament yesterday, they played Reformation. They have another game today at the park, I hope they win! I would be cool for them to get 3rd! (Since they lost their first game, the best they can do now is 3rd because they were put on the losers' bracket.)

Four Day Weekend!

Yay! It's a four day weekend! But tomorrow I have practice, and on Saturday, I have a game, so I won't be able to see much of the Reforamtion Tournament which is also during this weekend. :-( Katie and Stephanie weren't here for practice today, so I was the youngest one out there. I hope I'm getting a little better.

I took the AMC 10 test yesterday, I got a 79.5, I missed the top score in our school by .5! Brandon, the person who also beat me in the eigth grade math competition (by 2 points), beat me again! Grrr... Well, I have something to try for now.

I think I am going to be putting together the Hawk Talk this weekend, it will be the first time I've done it! Dad has been doing it before now, so I hope he is willing to help a lot. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

I babysat the Rosenows on Valentine's Day. I had fun! We played "There's a Moose in the House" many times, and we started watching some of the Olympics. I love to watch all of the athletes.

Varsity Basketball

Wow! Is Varsity hard! I am really out of shape even though I have been playing sports ever since summer basketball nonstop. I don't think that is a good thing.

Katie, Stephanie, and I were the only JV girls that practiced today; I think that once Krystyna is better, she will practice with us also. Everyone else is doing softball or wasn't asked.

We started off practice doing 5-on-0 3-on-2 for what seemed like 15 minutes. I was already tired after that.

After that, we did warm-ups and that added to the tiredness.

Then we did some layups, that wasn't to bad except for the fact that we used the weighted balls and I couldn't throw them very far.

Then, the really hard part, we had to do these workouts that you do for weightlifting. There were leg pushes and you had to hold yourself on one arm and then on both arms, it seemed easy, but it was REALLY hard.

Then we did some jumping type of exercises, and since it was right after the workouts, I felt like throwing up, but I got through it.

Then we did some shooting practice, we used the new machine that passes to you and counts your made baskets, we also shot freethrows (I need some work on those) and some bank shots. This part of practice was pretty easy, we only had one gopher in the middle, and I had time to get a break.

Then we were finally over; I still have the rest of the week of practice with Varsity and there is a game on Saturday. If we win, we still have some more practice and we practice until we lose. It would be nice to win, but it will be tough to get through all these hard practices.

I hope it will be better tomorrow.

My Birthday

Yay! I'm 16! My birthday was so much fun! I got a cell phone, an electronic dictionary, and a dog pillow. I also got a sweater, but it didn't fit, so we took it back and I got a really cute outfit!

We won our basketball game yesterday! I made 5 points! I also stole the ball a couple of times! After I escorted my parents for Parents' Night, we left for a concert. It was a big surprise, I had no clue what we were going to do. We ended up at the Aerosmith concert. It was really neat! We got home really late and I slept in until 10:45.

Dad released our geocache series this morning! So far, Trovamo is the only one that has completed the series.

I sang for the Valentine's Dinner at the Neujahr's house for Exaltation. We sang: How Deep is Your Love, You'll Be in My Heart, Lollipop, and Jonny Angel. It was a lot of fun and there was a lot of really good food!

JV Basketball is Almost Over

:,-( Tomorrow is the last day of practice for JV Basketball. Friday is our last game, and my birthday. We are playing against Riverside, we lost to them last time we played them, but we can probably beat them on Friday, I hope we do, but Megan and Krystyna can't play. Megan hurt her ankle and Krystyna is sick and they are our two best guards.

I told Coach Bork that I will practice with Varsity next week. After the playoffs are over, I won't have anymore sports after school. Then I can maybe go home earlier and relax more.

I've been working on my cystic fibrosis project, I have the PowerPoint done and now I only have to write the paper. I still have one more day to finish it.

I am still a little sick, Iv'e started coughing up phlegm, but hopefully I will still be able to sing on Saturday.

Last Week of JV Basketball

Well, I found out that I got an A on my Spanish 1 semester exam, it would have been really neat to get all A+s on my exams, but, oh, well.

I got all A+s and As on my report card, no A-s!

On Friday I babysat Shannon Watson, we watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and learned a couple of the Oompa-Loompa dances! It was fun!

On Saturday I babysat the Rosenows, they got a new LIFE game and I showed them how to play There's a Moose in the House. They also had a party version of the 20 Questions. I had a lot of fun with them.

On Sunday, Aunt Kris took me to see King Kong, I really liked it, but it was really long, 3 hours! It seemed like they could have made it a lot shorter, but Peter Jackson directed it, I guess he likes to make long movies. She also took me to Barnes and Noble and bought me a $10 gift certificate, then we went to In-N-Out. I really enjoyed it.

Over the weekend I started getting sick, half of our basketball team was missing because they were sick. I think I will get better pretty quick, my nose isn't running anymore!

Tomorrow we have another basketball game, but with half of our team being sick and almost all of our starters either sick or injured, I doubt we will do very well, but who knows?

This week is the last week of JV basketball. :,-( The last game, and parents' night, is on my birthday! Coach Bork asked me if I wanted to play with Varsity for the playoffs, I think I will.

I got a job! I will be tutoring a kid after school. I hope it goes well.

Today seemed as though it was "National Injure Sarah Day." Some Sophmore boys were fooling around before school and slammed into me and crushed me against the wall. Ouch! Then in choir, Drew chucked a cracker at someone, but it hit me instead, it didn't hurt, it just scared me. Then Drew hit me again, this time with his elbow, during Spanish class. Before World History, David's backpack, which had a few heavy books in it, hit my elbow, that hurt pretty bad. Then during basketball practice, a basketball fell on my head. It was one thing after another.

Nothing else for now!
