The Sun -- The Closest Star

Nuclear Fusion

Here is a very interesting site and another site supporting it that tell of the chemical processes of the sun. Within the sun there are constant reactions going on due to extremely high temperatures and amazing pressures. Certain elements within the sun are fused together and others add to reactions. Nuclear fusion is a constant ongoing process within the sun. The extreme temperatures and pressures withing the sun allow atoms to be stripped of their electrons and when the nucleus of a stripped atom collides with another, there is nuclear fusion. Enormous amounts of energy are released, giving the sun its motion and the energy that sustains it.

The dimensions of our sun in comparison to planets and other stars are present in these sites. I find this to be very interesting and informative. I suggest a visit to this site to learn of the amazing possibilities that are in our space and the power of chemistry is illustrated within the power of the sun. The sun is a very chemical subject that should be looked into.
