On the day of September 5th, Ukranian presidential candidate Viktor Yuschenko was handsome, confident, and ready to bring democracy to his country. The next morning, after a dinner with senior Ukranian security officials, his face and body became bloated, pock-marked, discolored and almost unrecognizable. Doctors have now proved that Yuschenko was poisoned with a toxin called T-2, or "yellow rain," a poison extremely high in dioxin, a chemical that could have killed Yuschenko if the dosage had been any higher. Government officials suspect a third party was involved in poisoning Yuschenko. Says Dr. Michael Zimpfer, Yuschenko's main physician in this case, "This poision would have been extremely easy to slip into a soup or a drink." Though Russian President Vladimir Putin had publicly supported Yuscheko's opponent in the election, dectectives do not suspect any Russian involvement in the incident.
